Join us for a family friendly creative exploration of nature in Coolidge Corner!

“Join naturalist Rebecca Arnoldi for a tour of the flowers, leaves, bugs, and birds in the Coolidge Corner area. After meeting at the library, we'll be walking to a nearby park, observing nature and completing a craft as part of the session. This event is intended for children ages 6-9 and an accompanying adult. Registration is required,

The Art and Science of Trees:

  1. Drawing

  • Come explore trees in Spring! Together we will observe buds, flowers and leaves using our senses, pencils and paint. Drawing and painting will be observation and process oriented and open to all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced professional artists! We may discover intimate details of the trees we meet and there will be space to share discoveries and discuss the science behind what we observe. This 2-part workshop offers the chance to deepen connection with the trees around us and  the creativity inside of us!


Together we will explore the unique features of individual trees and tree species using our senses and use pencil and paint as tools for creative discovery. Weather permitting we will spend most if not all of the time outdoors so please dress for the weather and bring a hat with a brim if possible. This is a process oriented class that welcomes all levels of art experience from beginners to professional artists. Come connect with trees creatively!

An Urban Nature Walk of Brookline with Naturalist Rebecca Arnoldi.

Identify and learn about some of the beautiful trees that call Brookline home.This a chance to slow down and feel the Spring by using our senses to explore flowers and leaves of our street trees. Join us for a tree tour along the quiet streets of Brookline Village and in a peaceful park. We will observe leaves and flowers of several tree species and learn some tricks to identify trees in Spring, . Come relax, renew, and reconnect with the natural world!

The Forest

A process oriented creative exploration of trees using drawing and/or watercolor as tools for discovery. This class series is designed for adults of all levels of experience and ability. Very interested children 12+ are welcome to register with their participating parent or guardian.

Mindful Marsh Experience

An immersive workshop integrating gentle stretches, mindfulness, sensory explorations & a slow walk along a salt marsh. I hope you might join us!
